Church Street Fields
A 6 acre area that was dedicated to Campus Recreation in 2002 after the previous area used by Campus Recreation was used for new residence hall housing. There is room for 3 softball fields (grass infields rather than dirt), 4 flag football fields, and the Rugby and Lacrosse club teams hold their home matches on this area. The fields have irrigation lines and Campus Recreation pays for a Port-a Potty to be located on the fields in the fall and spring. An equipment storage area for Campus Recreation is located on site as well as storage for softball backstops and Campus Recreation bleachers. A small parking lot for Campus Recreation supervisors while working on the fields is located in the same area as the storage unit. The L.D.S. church across the street from the fields has been very gracious in allowing Campus Recreation to use their parking lot when there are activities on the fields.
The Rugby and Lacrosse teams utilize other areas on campus for practice. Trying to fit practice field size to actual game field size is an ongoing problem as the Church Street fields may only be used for league games. A fourth softball field used by Campus Recreation is located next to the varsity softball field and is a dirt infield with a 280' fence around it. Campus Recreation uses this field after the intercollegiate team practices (after 5:00 pm) are done and not at all on home game days. Intramural softball championship games are played on the "JV Field".
