Purpose: Gives students success with fundamental skills. Learn-to-Swim Level II participants further develop simultaneous and alternating arm and leg actions on the front and back that lay the foundation for future strokes. Level II skills include:
- Enter water by stepping or jumping from the side
- Open eyes underwater, pick up submerged object
- Roll over from front to back, back to front
- Exit water safely using ladder, steps or side
- Float on front and back, including three variations of the front float
- Tread water using arm and leg motions
- Perform glides on front and back with recovery to a vertical position
- Swim on front and back using combined strokes
- Change direction or postion while swimming on front and back
- Improve comprehension of preivous water safety rules with the introduction of new rules
