Summer Orientation Advising and Registration - SOAR
What is SOAR?
For admitted freshman: registration required
SOAR refers to Western Oregon University’s Summer Orientation, Advising and Registration program for admitted freshmen. At SOAR, freshmen will take the math placement test, attend academic advising with faculty, complete the registration process for fall term courses, learn about valuable campus resources and receive their student ID cards.
The 2014 SOAR dates are:
Freshmen admitted for Fall Term 2014 are required to attend one of the SOAR programs. The Office of Admissions anticipates mailing SOAR packets, which will include program registration instructions and Block Schedule information, in the middle of May. Students will register for SOAR and rank their Block Schedule preferences using their WOU Portal.
Note: Admitted freshmen from the state of Hawaii are invited to attend WOU’s orientation and registration program on the island of Oahu.

Time: Check-in from 12pm to 1pm, Event from 1pm - 4pm
Location: Hilton, Waikiki Beach
When: Monday, April 28, 2014
Time: Check-in from 6pm to 6:30pm, Event from 6:30pm to 9pm
Location: HP Baldwin High School
Note: Admitted freshmen from the state of California are invited to attend WOU’s orientation and registration program in Northern or Southern CA.

Location: Concord, CA
When: Tuesday, May 13, 2014
Location: Anaheim, CA
