Campus tours
Weekdays at 10:00 a.m., 1:30 p.m., and 2:30 p.m. You can also schedule an appointment with an admissions counselor, meet with a professor from your area of interest or attend a class of your choice. Please provide two weeks advance notice if you wish to schedule an appointment with a professor or attend a class.
Tours are also offered during winter, spring and summer break at 1:30 p.m. and include the Residence Halls.
Visitation programs
Including preview days, These events provide students and their families the opportunity to learn more about WOU. Program activities include campus and residence hall tours, lunch at Valsetz Dining Hall, interest sessions and an academic department information fair.

The application process
Important - please note: WOU’s admissions policy allows students the opportunity to apply throughout the academic year. It is the responsibility of each student applying to the university to be aware of deadlines pertaining to financial aid, scholarships and programs of study. WOU nursing program
WOU has been working with The Oregon Health and Sciences University (OHSU) to offer a Bachelor of Science, nursing degree. Students will begin their pre-nursing track at WOU and apply for admission to continue in the OHSU program at WOU at the end of their freshman year. The nursing degree will have an emphasis on rural healthcare.

International Baccalaureate Program (IB)
WOU offers one of the most comprehensive policies for recognition of high performance in the International Baccalaureate Program (IB). Students earning the full diploma are eligible for scholarships, credits, housing priority, honors program selection, and assistance in securing study abroad opportunities.
Dual enrollment program at Western Oregon University
With either Chemeketa Community College and Clatsop Community College
The program is an opportunity for students to complete one application process for enrollment at Chemeketa Community College, Clatsop Community College and/or Western Oregon University. Eligible students can receive financial aid at one institution for the combined credits at each school. The program is open to all U.S. citizens, permanent residents and eligible non-citizens pursuing their initial bachelor’s degree. learn more

Student Right to Know
Western Oregon University provides the following information regarding our institution’s graduation rates. This information is provided in compliance with the Higher Education Act of 1965. The graduation rates reflect the graduation status of students who initially enrolled at Western Oregon University during the 1999-2000 academic year and for who 150% of the normal time to completion has elapsed.

During fall 1999 770 new first-time degree seeking undergraduate students entered the university. As a June 2006 54.8% of these students graduated and 6.2% were still enrolled and making progress towards their degree. A total of 139 new transfer students from Oregon community colleges enrolled at WOU during this same period and 81.3% of these students had completed their degree on or before June 30, 2006.
