ADVANCED COVER LETTER REVIEW (1 hour)

If you need assistance on a writing and tailoring a cover letter to specific opportunities.

Need help right away? Meet with a specially trained peer career advisor! Drop in hours at SLCD are Monday – Friday, 9:30am – 4:30pm.

 

ADVANCED RESUME REVIEW (1 hour)

If you have a specialty resume or CV schedule an in-depth resume review with a career development professional.

CAREER COUNSELING (1 hour)

Meet with a career counselor to explore major and career options and strategies.

 

CAREER ASSESSEMENTS (1 hour)

Learn about how your skills and interests can be translated into your career. We offer MBTI, StrengthsQuest and Strong Interest Inventory.

 

GRADUATE SCHOOL COUNSELING (1 hour)

Clarify grad school interests, understand the decision to go to grad school, and gain the knowledge of how to start on your path towards grad school.

 

GRADUATE SCHOOL SEARCH AND APPLICATION MATERIALS (1 hour)

Assistance on how to develop application materials, such as personal statements. Help with searching for Graduate Schools in your chosen field of study.

 

INTERNSHIP ADVISING (30 min)

Identify internship goals and options and learn strategies for landing internships.

 

JOB SEARCH ADVISING (30 min)

Identify job search goals and develop skills and strategies for landing a job aligned with your major and/or interests.

 

MOCK INTERVIEW (30 minutes or 1 hour)

Practice your interviewing skills and prepare for your interview. Please include information about the position you are interviewing for.

 

ALTERNATIVE BREAK ADVISING (30 min)       

Appointments for participants, or interested participants, in WOU’s Alternative Break program.

 

VOLUNTEER ADVISING (30 min)

Identify how to engage in volunteer experience that enhances your education and career.
