Many students benefit from a one-on-one appointment with one of our skilled career development staff.  They can help you with resumes, cover letters, interviewing, job search, salary negotiation, choosing a career, internships, volunteer opportunities, and so much more! Please see below to determine the correct career development staff for your appointment

APPOINTMENT FOCUS

CAREER COUNSELING (1 hour)

Gain awareness of your strengths and interest.   Learn how to explore career options and finding a path toward your goals.  May include career assessments.

CHOOSING A MAJOR (1 hour)

Learn to research and make the right decision for you.

 

RESUME (1 hour)

If you have a specialty resume or CV schedule an in-depth resume review with a career development professional.

Need help right away?  Meet with a specially trained peer career advisor! Drop in hours at SLCD are Monday – Thursday, 11am – 3pm.


COVER LETTER (1 hour)

If you need assistance on a writing and tailoring a cover letter to specific opportunities.

JOB SEARCH (1 hour)

Learn strategies and develop skills for part-time, work study, and full time job opportunities.

Practice your interviewing skills and prepare for your interview.

GRADUATE SCHOOL (1 hour)

Research grad programs of interest.  Learn strategies of getting into grad and professional school.
