Publications and Creative Services
Publications and Creative Services is committed to supporting Western Oregon University’s mission of developing educated persons, providing overall editorial direction and collaboration with institutional communications and branding strategy. PCS is responsible for overall editorial direction and planning of WOU’s institutional communications and branding strategy.
PCS provides graphic design services for university offices at no charge. It is university policy that all printed material intended for public distribution be approved by PCS. Whether it’s a brochure, poster, newsletter or annual report, our designers can provide a professional look for your publication. Allow two to three weeks to complete your project, depending on scope of the publication.
Student recruitment publications, the Western Edge magazine, fundraising, alumni relations, and the WOU website are the primary focus. PCS provides professional expertise in the areas of graphic design, photography, writing and editing for academic and non-academic units on campus. Priority status is given to print and electronic projects associated with student recruitment, development, alumni relations, events and the president’s office. The office is also responsible for the university’s academic identity standards.

WOU branding identity
PCS is responsible for the university’s academic identity standards. The WOU wordmark is the graphic foundation for all academic and administrative units of the university. It’s the most immediate and most recognizable way for our audiences to know that the publication in their hands or the website on their monitor is from WOU. Consistent use of the wordmark strengthens our identity as a cohesive yet multi-faceted institution.
