Unit mission

The mission of the Registrar’s Office is to ensure the integrity and accuracy of academic records support the academic programs of the University and serve students, faculty, and staff.  The Registrar’s Office dedicates its resources to promoting the mission, aspirations, and goals of Western Oregon University.

 

Unit description

As a unit of Academic Affairs, the traditional and primary responsibility of the Registrar’s Office is to maintain the integrity and accuracy of academic records.  To that purpose the Registrar’s Office provides the following services:

  • builds the class schedule and assigns rooms
  • prepares and provides online registration
  • verifies enrollment
  • processes grades and subsequent grade changes
  • monitors degree requirements for undergraduates
  • confirms and awards degrees
  • coordinates attendance at commencement
  • generates and distributes diplomas
  • provides transcript services
  • certifies eligibility for veteran’s benefits
  • verifies degree progress for student athletes

The listed services are completed according to institutional policies and standards, as well as state and federal laws and regulations.
