for Pacific Northwest Studies
Located at Western Washington University, the Center collects
private papers, organizational, and institutional records documenting economic,
social, cultural, and political trends significant to the study of the Pacific
Northwest. The collections include a few items from the late eighteenth century,
but most date from the mid-nineteenth century to the present. The format of the
Center's holdings vary widely, ranging from photographs, maps, architectural drawings,
audio and video tapes, diaries, letters, business ledgers and account books, newspapers,
and scrapbooks.

Search collections of digitized archival materials produced
by Alaskan universities and the Alaska State Library.

American Indians of the Pacific Northwest
This digital collection integrates over 2,300 photographs
and 7,700 pages of text relating to the American Indians in two cultural areas
of the Pacific Northwest, the Northwest Coast and Plateau. These resources illustrate
many aspects of life and work, including housing, clothing, crafts, transportation,
education, and employment. The materials are drawn from the extensive collections
of the University of Washington Libraries, the Northwest Museum of Arts & Culture
(formerly the Cheney Cowles Museum/Eastern Washington State Historical Society),
and the Museum of History and Industry in Seattle.

A project sponsored by the Washington Secretary of State
to provide access to historic Washington newspapers. Provides a searchable online
index and full-text images for selected papers. Requires a special plug-in to
