Music Periodicals Index
Provides citations for articles published in Canadian music periodicals. Includes nearly 30,000 entries for articles dating from the late-19th century to the present day. 500 Canadian music journals, newsletters and magazines are represented, almost 200 of which are currently active and continue to be indexed. The electronic arm of Gramophone magazine, this site includes a daily international classical music news service, unique feature articles, and a section devoted to the annual Gramophone Awards. The site also hosts Gramofile, an online database of CD reviews stretching back to 1983. It also features historical archive material from previous issues of the magazine, extra news channels, audio clips and expanded information on music competitions. A searchable, editable, and expandable collection of tunes, melodies, and musical themes. Every entry can be edited by anybody. An entry can contain a bit of sheet music, a MIDI file, textual information about the work and the composer, and last but not least the Parsons Code, a rough description of the melodic contour. Uses the "Melodyhound" melody search engine, which allows users to find and identify a tune even if the melody is all you know. - Music

Music Consortium
Provides a large database of sheet music owned by various research libraries, some of which has been digitized, so that it is available in full-text on the web. Search or browse by keyword, song title, composer, etc. Covers primarily American music published in the 19th and early 20th centuries. - Mutopia Features an expanding collection of sheet music that you can download, print out, and use for free. Predominantly covers works by classical composers.

A handy list of sites that provide information about arts funding. - Oregon Arts Commission
A division of the Oregon Economic and Community Development Department that seeks to foster the arts in Oregon and maintain their excellence. Nine commissioners, appointed by the governor, determine policies, establish long-range plans, and review applications to grants programs to determine funding levels. - Oregon Cultural Trust
A statewide cultural plan to raise significant new funds to invest in Oregon's arts, humanities and heritage. Plans to distribute more than $90 million in grant funds throughout the state over the next decade.
