Background Information

The College of Education at Western Oregon University is the premier teacher licensure program in Oregon. Seven degrees are available to students with endorsements in 15 academic licensure areas. For further information, see the College of Education homepage.

National Center for Education Statistics:
NCES is the primary federal entity for collecting and analyzing data that are related to education in the United States and other nations. Look under QuickLinks for the Nation's Report Card, public schools locations and other frequently used tools.

New York Times Learning Network Contains news topics for parents, teachers and students. Also has lesson plans relating to the news of today and a searchable archive of past topics.

Oregon School Directory

Teacher's Network (TeachNet) This site offers resources for teachers ranging from lesson plans and materials to use in the classroom to grantwriting. Lesson plan search is customizable by subject and grade level.

Thinkfinity - Offers free K-12 standards-based lesson plans across many disciplines including art, economics, humanities, mathematics, science and geography.

U.S. Department of Education 
Provides curriculum planning guides and lesson plans. Click on "Teachers" link, then select "Teaching Resources."
