This very readable four-volume encyclopedia includes articles on individual careers as well as on career fields. The first volumes consists of career guidance (such as "Preparing for Your Career" and "Finding a Job") as well as career field profiles, such as Education, The Music and Recording Industry, The Internet, and Social Services. Also included in Volume One is an appendix of Career Resources and Associations for Individuals with Disabilities and an appendix of Internships, Apprenticeships and Training Programs. The remaining volumes present the articles on individual careers, including the history and purpose of the profession, formal training and other requirements as well as other ways to explore and get started, and the salary range, outlook for the profession and the contact information for appropriate associations. |
