Faculty
will sometimes post PowerPoint slides converted
to Web pages that students then want to
print multiple slides to a page. You must
print this way from within the PowerPoint
program; Web browsers do not allow this
option. Depending on how the files were
saved to the Web, you will follow one of
the following sets of directions.
- Open Internet Explorer. Go to
the professors Web site
and PowerPoint slides. Do this
by typing the URL into the Address
box near the top, or by selecting
from the Academics menu
of the university's
Web site and browsing down
to the profs site.
- Click on the Open a new copy
of [filename.ppt] for editing
button (a red and white button
directly underneath the Address
box on the left side). [no button?
try the other
directions below]
- In the resulting dialog box,
select the H:/ drive and then
the folder with your login name.
(You may want to further organize
it into a subdirectory). Then
click OK.
- Open Microsoft PowerPoint, and
then open the file you just saved.
- Within PowerPoint, select File-->Print.
Near the bottom of the Print dialog
box, find the Print What: drop
down menu and select Handouts.
Immediately to the right, choose
the number of slides per page
(from 2 to 9), as well as their
horizontal or vertical order on
the page. Then click OK.

do you want to do with this file?

and click OK.
- Choose and save to an appropriate
location for the file (we suggest
your H: drive)
- Open Microsoft PowerPoint, and
then open the file you just saved.
- Within PowerPoint, select File-->Print.
Near the bottom of the Print dialog
box, find the Print What: drop
down menu and select Handouts.
