We offer live instruction sessions on finding books and articles, research fundamentals, and library resources.

In addition, we collaborate with you (WOU faculty) to offer live instruction sessions on library resources tailored to your specific course content.

Would you like your students to be more familiar with a specific article database or other research tool? Want them learn how to use a new Web 2.0 technology? We can create custom online tutorials to meet your needs.

Tutorials are housed on the library webpage and can be linked into your Class Guide or WOU Online (Moodle) course pages.

Hamersly Library has several classrooms which may be reserved for both library and regular classroom instruction sessions. These include:

  • 107 Lecture/Demo Style
    (Crawford)
    (45 in classroom style,
    60 in lecture style)
  • 116 Seminar/Demo Style (12)
  • 2nd Floor Computer Alcove
    (9 workstations)

Faculty may view room calendars (linked above) to check availability of classroom space. To schedule an instruction session, please contact the subject librarian specific to your course area, or for writing or speech courses, contact Carol Monders.

Hamersly Library welcomes visits from high school and community groups when academic library resources are appropriate for student projects. This will more often be the case for students in Grades 11 - 12 than for those in lower grades. Before visiting the library, we recommend consulting with one of the Hamersly Librarians to make sure that the library resources are appropriate and available. Classroom and computer resources may be made available only during times of low student use. For more information, contact Robert Monge

We can create online class research guides customized to fit your specific class assignments and research projects.

Class Guides are housed on the library webpage and can be linked into your WOU Online (Moodle) course pages.
