Faculty Show Case:

Papua New Guinea: Traditions and Change Among the Asabano
February 29 - March 24, 2001

The Faculty Showcase allows faculty to display information about their recent research.

Currently featured is the recent research of Dr. Roger Lohmann, a visiting professor of Anthropology from the University of Wisconsin.  His research focuses on the Asabano peoples of Papua New Guinea.  He conducted the first in-depth study of the Asabano in 1994-95.  His research focuses on recording and analyzing traditional practices and cultural changes that have occurred since contact.  This exhibit presents a few of the items of traditional decoration that his Asabano friends gave him.
