STUDENT HEALTH CENTER
CONSTRUCTION DATES: The structure housing the Student Health Canter was
built in 1963.
REMODEL: There are no substantial remodels of the facility that are known.
CONSTRUCTION COMPANY: Jeppsen and Miller of Corvallis contracted the
construction of the facility.
COSTS: The construction cost $138,361 when the bill was complete.
ARCHITECTS AND BUILDING STYLE: The wood frame building was designed by
the architectural firm of Jeppsen and Miller of Corvallis.
CURRENT USES: The building currently houses the Student Health Center.
HISTORY: The Student Health Center was built to ease the overcrowded
situation at the previous site on Clay Street. Health services have been
available on campus since about 1910 when the health center was located
in Todd Hall. The health center has been located in several places, but
the current building is the first built and designed for student health
services.
OTHER INTERESTING FACTS: The Student Health Center was built entirely
with student fees as a self-liquidating project.
