Borrowing Policy
- Only WOU enrolled students, faculty and staff with a valid WOU ID
card can check out netbooks during library hours until one hour before
closing.
- The borrower agrees to follow the Library's Computer Checkout and
Use Policy and complete the Laptop Computer Borrowing Agreement before
a computer can be checked out.
- The borrower agrees to treat this equipment with the same care provided to similar personal property.
- Netbook checkout privileges may be denied to people who damage the
equipment, repeatedly return netbooks late, or do not follow these use
policies.
Check-out Guidelines
- The borrower's WOU ID card will be held at the Checkout Desk until
the netbook is returned.
- Check out a netbook for up to four hours at a time.
- To reserve a netbook, contact the Library Information Desk (tel.
503-838-8418) at least one day in advance.
One reservation per person per day.
- Netbook check out is also available on a first-come, first-serve
basis.
- Netbooks will be held 30 minutes past the start of reservation time
before being released to walk-in traffic; however, the checkout period
may be shortened, depending on the next reservation.
- Netbooks must be returned directly to library personnel at the Checkout
Desk. Renewal for another four hours will depend on availability. Netbooks
must be returned to library personnel at the Checkout Desk at least
fifteen minutes before closing.
Conditions of Use
- The borrower agrees and understands that WOU and the Library assume
no responsibility for loss or damage to borrower's personal property
through use of the netbook.
- Netbooks are to be used only in the Hamersly Library. They may not
be taken beyond the Library security gates or into the student lounge
or outside the building.
- DO NOT LEAVE A NETBOOK UNATTENDED.
- The borrower will report any equipment problems immediately to the
Checkout Desk staff.
Overdue charges
The borrower agrees to pay overdue charges for netbooks not returned
within the four hour check-out period. Overdue charge for netbooks is
$5.00 per hour or any part of an hour, with a maximum fine of $50 per
use.
Charges for damage
The borrower agrees to be the responsible for charges for damage based on actual repair costs. Replacement cost
The borrower agrees to pay replacement cost for a lost or stolen netbook
and/or other accessories. Replacement costs are approximately $700 plus
the accrued overdue charges. |
