International Students and Scholars

Welcome, international visiting scholars

Western Oregon University has a long tradition of advocating the cultural diversity and the values of internationalization on campus. Your role as the unofficial ambassadors representing your home countries here is valuable and important to us. We appreciate your future contribution to our institution.

The Office of International Students and Scholars at WOU was designated by the U.S. State Department to be responsible for the reciprocal Exchange Visitor Programs between Western Oregon University and international institutions. Any incoming international visiting scholars/professors, or visiting students/exchange students from foreign institutions and agencies at WOU must apply and submit the required documentations to ISS for approval.

WOU academic units/departments need to follow the international visiting scholar approval procedure and to fill the Host Request Form (word format)

Required documents from an international visiting scholar for issuing the DS-2019 J-1 Visa Form:

  1. Resume with title or rank and the current institution information.
