New International Student & Scholar Orientation
The International Students and Scholars Affairs office welcomes you to Western Oregon University and looks forward to your arrival at WOU!
The New International Student Orientation program aims to orient new international students and scholars to life in the United States and to Western Oregon University. Orientation is designed to provide our new international students with information about WOU, its policies and procedures, its campus and facilities, and the City of Monmouth and local resources. It is important for all new or transfer international students to attend orientation.
Below is the schedule for events and required check-in procedures such as the Health and Medical Screening and immigration document check-in.
Orientation Dates for: Spring 2013 Spring Term 2013
Wednesday, March 27 in Maaske Hall What to bring with you:
9:00AM – 11:30 AM - Check-in at ISSA office at 9am - Maaske Hall
**1:30 PM - Set-up Bank Accounts with local banks (if you don’t have one) for checking, deposit, wire transfer, and get checks to pay fees. (Note: starting Fall 2009, WOU cashiers will not accept card payments, only cash or checks. Card Payments can be done online with a debit card only.) Documents or Information required:
**1:30 PM - Trip to Salem for those who need to purchase cell phones. (Meet at Maaske Hall)
Monday, April 01 First Day of Classes
Mandatory Health screening for all International Students at Student Health Center – 8:30AM to 12:00PM Bring Health Documents, Immunization records, etc.
Information for Students Setting up their Account and Current Students Network/Email Set-up Instructions or Step by Step Instructions
Process to Transfer Credits from a Foreign Institution
