Our Mission

At the Office of International Education and Development, our mission is to advance the ideals of internationalization throughout the Western Oregon University campus. We are committed to fostering intercultural communication and understanding among students, faculty, and staff. Our primary goals are to support and enrich the academic, cultural, and social experiences of international students at Western Oregon University.

Our Objectives

  1. Promoting Globalization and Diversity
    We actively promote globalization and diversity on our campus.
  2. Providing Comprehensive Support
    We offer information, assistance, and consultations on matters concerning international students and scholars. We facilitate personal and cultural transitions during their academic journey.
  3. Collaborating with International Institutions
    We explore and establish cooperative programs with international institutions to enhance global engagement.
  4. Assisting Personal and Academic Growth
    We assist international students and scholars in achieving their personal, academic, and professional goals.
  5. Continuous Improvement
    We continuously assess and enhance our study abroad and international internship programs. We develop opportunities for international exchange and dialogue.
  6. Commitment to Best Practices
    We are dedicated to being creative, proactive, and responsive in our work. We strive to set and emulate best practices in the field of education abroad.
