Applying to the Honors Program
Applications will be accepted from January 1 through August for students planning to enter the Honors Program the following fall. Acceptance notices will be sent on a rolling basis. The program can fill to capacity by June 1, so early application is strongly encouraged. The materials below are also available at every Preview and SOAR day at WOU.

This file concisely surveys the history, tracks, coursework, and main benefits of the Honors Program. Please read this before applying.
Current High School Students
Entering freshman are considered for admission to the program on the basis of their high school grade point average (GPA), Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) score and/or ACT score, high school transcripts, and their completed application.
Students with a GPA of 3.5 or better, a cumulative score on the verbal and math sections of the SAT of 1150 or more, or ACT scores of 27 or more are strongly encouraged to apply.
Students who don't meet these guidelines yet who wish to work in a more challenging learning environment are also welcome to apply.
Application for admission to Western Oregon University must be made separately and admission to Honors is conditional upon admission to WOU itself.
Current College or Transfer Students
Transfer students or students already attending Western Oregon University are welcome to join the 2-year Honors Associate Program. To do so, they should submit the Honors application and a copy of their university transcript(s).
