What will I pay for Master of Arts in Teaching program?The cost of your degree depends on many factors, including:

- Where you will take classes online or on campus
- Scholarships or student employment you receive
- Time to complete

The Master of Arts in Teaching: Initial Licensure program requires 56 total credits. Starting fall term 2014, tuition for online courses will be $371 per graduate credit. Tuition and fee rates are determined by the Western Oregon University Administrative Rules for extended programs and are subject to change.
For on-campus courses, tuition and fees are combined in a per-credit rate, currently $557. In addition to those fees, students taking 6 hours or more are assessed a $125.00 health service fee ($54 for summer).
Students who are taking online courses will not be charged campus fees but may be charged fees related to that course (such as for materials or supplies.)

Fees:A $300 one-time matriculation fee is assessed on all new graduate students.

Graduate Student Assistantships:
If you pursue a Master of Arts in Teaching: Initial Licensure, full-time you may apply for an assistantship, a form of student employment that includes both salary and tuition remission for research or teaching services as part of your academic and professional training and development. $2400 award for 2013-2014
Who's eligible to apply for a scholarship? MAT candidates starting a cohort in January, March, or June 2014 who are focusing in math (basic or advanced) or science (biology, chemistry, physics, or integrated science) and who submit a complete MAT application to the College of Education.
