Professional: Linda has been a faculty member at Western Oregon University since 1994. Her primary teaching areas are nutrition and research methods. She served as Chair for the Division of Health and Physical Education from 1998 to 2008. Since 2008 she has served as Graduate Programs Director. Background: Understanding the motivational determinants of health behavior change has been a primary focus of Linda's research for the past 20 years. Specifically, she has assessed perceived benefits and barriers of engaging in regular physical activities and making healthful food choices. As a member of a grant team that traveled to Ukraine several times, she assessed health behaviors of children and adults in rural Ukraine and developed school health materials for that population. Personal: Linda enjoys hiking, birding, gardening, and photography. |
