John Henning TWS Conference Presenter John Henning
Associate Professor
University of Northern Iowa
 
John Henning teaches classes in learning, research, and assessment.  His research interests and publications have included work in the teacher work sample, classroom discourse, semiotics, gifted education, teacher leadership, and professional development. 
   
He has been involved in the teacher work sample since 2001, serves on the college of education’s assessment committee and is currently chairing the TWS revision committee at the University of Northern Iowa.

  Denise Beeler Jones
TWS Conference Presenter Dee B. Jones Teacher Performance Assessment Coordinator
Kentucky Education Professional Standards Board
 
Denise Jones is the Teacher Performance Assessment coordinator for a Title II Teacher Quality Enhancement Grant at the Kentucky Education Professional Standards Board. She is  a former high school English teacher, now working on a doctoral degree in Educational Policy Studies and Evaluation at the University of Kentucky.

Carol Mack
Interim Dean, Graduate School of Education
Portland State University
 
Carol Mack is professor and interim dean of the Graduate School of Education at Portland State University. Previously she was associate dean, responsible for program review and assessment, licensure and accreditation. 
   
Her scholarly interests include reading, early literacy, professional development of teachers, assessment, and leadership in higher education. Dr. Mack has taught reading methods and supervised student teachers. She has served as cohort leader for preservice teachers, chair of the Curriculum and Instruction department, and commissioner on the Oregon Teacher Standards and Practices Commission, representing public higher education institutions.

TWS Conference Presenter Steve Neill Steven Neill
Assistant Professor, Dept. of School Leadership and Middle/Secondary Teacher Education
Emporia State University
 
Dr. Neill is a 2002 addition to the Teachers College faculty. Currently he teaches courses for aspiring teachers in Phase I as well as a graduate course in educational research. Steve is the Field Experience Coordinator and the TWS Mentor Coordinator.
 
He received his BSED from Pittsburg State with a major in History, his MSED in Secondary Education from Wichita State and his ED.D in Educational Administration from Wichita State.
   
His previous experience includes nineteen years as a high school teacher at Hesston, Concordia and Sumner Academy of Arts and Science and nine years as a building administrator at Burrton, Tonganoxie and Douglass. In 2001, Steve was recognized as KASSP District 4 Principal of the Year and he holds memberships in KASSP, NASSP, and USA.

Antony Norman TWS Conference Presenter Tony Norman
Assistant Dean for Assessment and Accountability
College of Education and Human Services
Longwood University
 

As professor of education at Longwood University, Dr. Norman's current scholarly interests are developing quality “unit-wide” assessments and database management systems for measuring the progress of education professional candidates towards standards.

   
Prior to his recent move to Longwood, he was the assessment coordinator for Western Kentucky University 's participation in the Renaissance Partnership.
