Kyle Dahlem's professional
experience includes 26 years
as a K-12 English teacher
and librarian, six years
as a full-time association
officer, and six years with
the Oklahoma State Regents.
During that time, she served
on the Oklahoma Commission
for Teacher Preparation
and the National Board for
Professional Teaching Standards,
where she chaired the Standards
Committee. |

Ms. Dahlem received the
NWOSU 2000 Outstanding
Education Award and
the 2004 Ambassador
Award from the Oklahoma
State Regents. In 2000,
upon receiving a Title II
Teacher Quality grant, she
assumed the additional title
of director of the Oklahoma
Teacher Enhancement Program
(OTEP). In that role, she
had oversight of the development
of assessments to demonstrate
the impact of teacher preparation
on K-12 student achievement,
including the highly reliable
Teacher Work Sample Methodology.
A native Oklahoman, she
holds degrees from Kansas
State of Pittsburg and Northwestern
Oklahoma State University. |

| He served on the national advisory panel that assisted Western Oregon University in development and research of Teacher Work Sample Methodology and has used TWSM in the design of both preservice and inservice teacher assessment programs. Dr. French currently chairs AACTE's Research and Publications Committee. |

| Martha Gage began her career in education as a teacher and, after acquiring both a master's degree and Ph.D., taught and served as a unit head in higher education for 16 years. While in higher education she served as president of the K-ACTE and on the Kansas Professional Advisory Standards Board. She moved to the Kansas Department of Education in 1998 and into the director position in 2000. She supervises a staff of 14 that processes over 20,000 applications for licenses a year. |

| She is in charge of the accreditation and program approval process for the 22 educator preparation institutions in Kansas. She is also a member of the Board of Examiners for NCATE. She has been a leader in the reform of certification in Kansas to a performance-based licensure system that was implemented in fall 2005. She is married, and has two children and two grandchildren. |

Dr. Mary Gendernalik-Cooper is currently the Dean of the School of Education and professor of Educational Leadership at Sonoma State University. Dr. Gendernalik-Cooper holds a bachelor's degree from Michigan State University, and an M.A.T. in Social Science Education and a Ph.D. in Education Policy Studies from Wayne State University. |

Her research interests are education reform, distributed leadership, and program assessment. Dr. Gendernalik-Cooper has led numerous educator preparation reform initiatives, and Professional Development School collaboratives. |
