4 – Engaging the Teen's Mind for Successful Space Management
Professor Mottola will conduct a three-hour workshop on the latest techniques for engaging teens in mental preparation activities during class sessions. Teachers will learn to present problem-solving situations that can be applied directly to in-car sessions. When a teen performs the mental part of driving before doing the physical part, the experience greatly enhances the teen's mind. It becomes a joy for the teacher to see the teen apply the behaviors during in-car sessions. Techniques will include using an In-car DVR Camera to record situations that teens will be able turn into classroom activities. There will be use of Roadway Simulations created from Google Earth, Model Roadways, Chip Vehicles, and Overlay Props. The DVR Camera and Model Roadway Kit will be provided to all attendees. Attendees also have the option of purchasing an NIDB Display Table at a reduced price. Attendees who already own a DVR camera may register for a discounted price of $45.

5– In-Car Student-Teacher Interaction
During this workshop you will be able to: Explore strategies for creating an environment that is conducive to teaching and learning; Experience methods to effectively manage learning activities and student behavior in dynamic surroundings; and practice cuing and coaching techniques for effective transfer of learning.
