Where can I find it?
What is it? Blogger™ is a cloud-based web logging or "blogging" tool owned by Google. You or your students can sign in with an existing Gmail account or create a new one. It's free! Check out this introduction video.
How does it work? Blogger™ is cloud-based, which means that you can access it from any computer with an internet connection by visiting blogger.com in any web browser and signing in. Blogging allows you to post news and other information with a time stamp, so everything is organized chronologically. Readers can also leave comments or discuss posted topics. Take a tour to learn more about blogging with Blogger.
How can I use this in my course? You can use Blogger™ to communicate with your students, share updates and multimedia course content, or even post assignments. Your students can use Blogger™ to develop and publish their ideas, discuss their opinions, and demonstrate their knowledge.

The advantages to using web tools in your classes are that you can often access materials from anywhere and that most browser-based applications are platform-neutral, which means that it doesn't matter what kind of computer you or your students are using. There isn't any special software to download, which means everyone with internet access can use the application.
