Vision

The vision of the Division of Extended Programs (DEP) is to sustain a collaborative and entrepreneurial organization that creates teaching and learning opportunities for WOU faculty and students, enhances the financial stability of WOU, and promotes academic excellence to its partners in business, government, education, and the community. This vision is promoted and sustained by the following organizational values:

  1. Collaborate with WOU’s academic colleges and faculty to deliver responsive and innovative credit and noncredit educational programming.
  2. Partner with external organizations including community colleges, Oregon University System institutions, business organizations, government entities and communities to deliver programs that strengthen Oregon’s economy, culture and workforce.
  3. Provide alternative educational opportunities to help adult students pursue career goals.
  4. Welcome new program and course proposals from WOU faculty to help meet their teaching, research, and service obligations.
  5. Build a culture of evidence to evaluate DEP programs, services, and faculty for continuous improvement.
  6. Promote WOU through marketing initiatives that accentuate academic quality and responsiveness to existing and new student markets.
