About the STA Program

The Student Technology Associate Program was created to help faculty with technology-enhanced projects while helping students gain critical technology skills. The program was originally created by the PT3 grant (Preparing Tomorrow's Teachers to Use Technology), and has been modified to be used by student workers in the Technology Resource Center. Past projects have involved Web page construction, scanning, PowerPoint, digital video, and other more discipline-specific forms of technology.

Goals of the STA Program

  • To assist faculty in improving instructional programs while using Instructional Technology.
  • To assist students in developing their skills with Instructional Technology

Procedure for applying for a Student Technology Associate:

  1. Fill out the STA Project Proposal form (Word document) and submit it to Scott Carter, STA Coordinator, via email at carters@wou.edu or in hard copy at IT204.
  2. The project will then be assigned an STA authorized for a set number of hours of work time, based the proposal and in consultation with the STA Coordinator. (More time can be authorized if needed at the discretion of the STA Coordinator.)
  3. All work must be completed in the Technology Resource Center (IT204). Only TRC student workers can be used for the projects.

To apply, fill out the MS Word application and email it as an attachment to Scott Carter, STA Coordinator, at carters@wou.edu, or drop it off at IT204.
