| WOU’s
teacher preparation program has been recognized nationally as
a model program that addresses the linkage between teacher education,
teaching practice, and student learning (Cochran-Smith, 2001).
A cornerstone of WOU’s program has been a compelling focus
on connecting all facets of teacher preparation to learning
gains in K-12 students. The program utilizes evidence-based
decisions at program entry, professional development benchmarks,
and licensure recommendations to document the connection between
quality teachers, teaching and K-12 students’ progress
toward high content standards. |
