Exploratory advising

  • The VAST majority of freshmen are undecided even though most don’t know it. The truth is that most Freshmen who declare their major before entering college change that choice several times before settling on one and graduating.
  • It is extremely important to explore the tremendous options available at the university. entering Freshman are often entirely unaware of the variety and scope of the possibilities.
  • Being undecided is often due to not having enough information to make a good decision, or not enough time to think the issue through.
  • The truth is this: It is OK, in fact normal, to be undecided. It is just not OK to stay undecided. It becomes stressful, inefficient with your time and money and ultimately counter productive.
  • There are steps you can take to gather the needed information and make a sound decision that has real meaning in your life. Click on the links listed to the right for more information.
