Academic Advising and the Phase Requirements:
Western Oregon University offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in Education (For graduate advising, please visit
www.wou.edu/graduate). For a better understanding of the requirements of an Education student, the College of Education has broken the timeline of a typical undergraduate education major into 3 segments;
- Phase 1
(Phase 1 is advised by the Academic Advising and Learning Center. Note: Middle/High Majors receiving advising from the department which they are majoring in.) - After the completion of Phase 1, the AALC will complete a file review with the student and transfer them over to Phase 2.
- Phase 2
(Phase 2 is advised by the
Division of Teacher Education faculty adviser.)
- Phase 3
begins after ACCEPTANCE into the licensure program.)
