MONMOUTH – The Western Oregon University faculty union and WOU President John Minahan announced today that a tentative agreement has been reached.
Pending ratification, this agreement provides step increases and cost-of-living increases the faculty were hoping for, and it restores the salary steps faculty lost during the salary freezes.
“This has been a difficult time for all members of the university. The administration and faculty union put students first and arrived at an agreement that is within the budget. All are happy to see the spring quarter begin on a good note, and we can now get back to the business of educating students.” said Minahan.
WOUFT president Mark Perlman said: “we are confident the membership will find this agreement acceptable and we can get back to teaching.”
