MONMOUTH – Western Oregon University will host College Night in Oregon, an event to help students understand the process for choosing a college and how to finance their education with scholarships and financial aid. This event will happen on Monday, Nov. 24 from 6 to 9 p.m. in the Pacific Room of Werner University Center, and at 13 other locations throughout the state.
The event includes breakout sessions on choosing the right college, the financial aid process, and scholarship searches and scams. At the end of the event, there will be a drawing where four scholarships, $500 each, will be awarded (the student must be present to win). The Educational Credit Management Corporation sponsored the scholarships.
WOU’s event will be fully presented in English and Spanish, and will be interpreted in American Sign Language. There is no charge for the event and it’s open to the public. Free parking will be available in lots H and F and no advance registration is required. There will also be refreshments available.
WOU is partnering with the Oregon Student Assistance Commission, ASPIRE, Oregon GEAR UP and Educational Credit Management Corporation, as well as the other institutions hosting events. For more information, visit www.collegenightinor.org.
