The giant sequoia is one of the most massive trees in the world as well as one of the tallest. It has been known to reach heights of 300' with a 29' trunk diameter. Equally impressive is its lifespan.

Our tallest sequoia tree is well known throughout the Willamette Valley for it's annual tree lighting in early December. |

The 'big tree in lights' is on the northeast corner of Campbell Hall; others are located at the NW corner of the Oregon Military Academy; between Rice Auditorium and the modular classrooms; near the Student Health Center, the Werner University Center, Sequoia Commons, and New Physical Education. |
