Presidents message
Strategic planning is a campuswide process involving all in determining the direction, programming and assessment of the university in the context of its mission and values.
Over a year and a half ending in December 2004, the Strategic Planning Council led the various activities which culminated in the current plan. These included conducting surveys of all constituents; incorporating task force determinations of WOU’s driving forces, key governing ideas and institutional distinctiveness; and facilitating day-long planning sessions with larger representation of faculty, staff and students. It is important to emphasize that the strategic planning effort is an open and ongoing process with many opportunities for all members of the university community to become involved in shaping WOU’s future.
The people listed below represent the core of the planning process. Their enthusiasm and hard work provided the impetus for campus participation. I want to thank them and all others who worked to make this plan a framework for success.
