WOU's Study Abroad and International Exchanges partners with study abroad providers who offer a variety of programs for students: study and service learning, research, internships, traditional study abroad, exchanges, both long and short term programs. In addition to WOU students, students from community colleges who meet the eligibility criteria for the programs may participate. Partners include: OUS International Programs, AHA International, Cooperative Center for Study Abroad, IE3 Global Internships, School for Field Studies, Center for International Studies Abroad, International Partnership for Service Learning and Leadership, WOU exchanges with Saitama University, University Of Kassel, Linnaeus University, Edge Hill University.

The Office of Study Abroad and International Exchanges provides diverse international programs and opportunities to WOU's students, faculty, and staff, and supports the university's goal of increasing participation in and advancing programs that facilitate understanding and the exchange of people and ideas in international, multicultural, and cross-cultural arenas.
Participation in WOU's Preview Days and other WOU fair events; presentations to Freshman Year Experience classes as well as other classes across the academic disciplines; co-sponsor International Education Week; nominate returning study abroad students for Academic Excellence Day; sponsor panels, advising sessions, and residence hall events; hold pre-departure orientation sessions and re-entry sessions; conduct research to improve the preparation of students prior to departure and to better assist them in re-entry and reflection.
