Description:
The WOU Office of Admissions serves Oregonians through a variety of recruitment and outreach efforts. The primary goal of WOU's efforts is to inspire students to graduate from high school, attend college and earn their degree.
Relevant Activities:
- High school visitations: Admissions representatives visit all regions of the state and WOU participates in the OUS High School Visitation Program each fall.
- Community college visitations: Admissions representatives visit Oregon community colleges and WOU participates in the Oregon Transfer Days tour.
- College fairs: Staff from the Office of Admissions represent WOU at a variety of college/career fairs throughout the state.
- College nights: Admissions representatives participate in events at grade, middle and high schools. The events promote the importance and value of pursuing a higher education.
- Onsite admissions: Staff from the Office of Admissions review the applications of seniors when visiting Oregon high schools. Students receive a response regarding their admission status during the visit.
- Campus visitation programs: The Office of Admissions coordinates a variety of campus visitation events, including Preview Days, at no charge for prospective students and their families.
- Group visitations: The Office of Admissions hosts grade, middle and high school groups in addition to groups from the Oregon community colleges. Activities range from campus tours to lunch at the dining hall.
