WOU Basketball Association

September 14, 2007
We recently announced the formation of the Western Oregon University Basketball Association. This exclusive association serves as a major source of funding for Men’s Basketball while linking alumni, friends and loyal supporters to Western Oregon University.
As part of the NCAA Division II, it is important for us to provide our team with the support they need. Most programs at this level enjoy full time coaching staffs, full ride scholarships, and sufficient budgets for equipment, travel and venue operations. However, Western Oregon is struggling to compete with these necessities. With your support we can not only maintain what we have, but we can build our program and better support our students.
With the help of people like you, WOU will be able to provide scholarship funding for the recruitment and retention of outstanding student athletes, provide funding for venue and facility improvements, as well as other team needs. With all the contributions we receive, we strive to accomplish the main goal of the association, which is to assist Western Oregon in producing a strong basketball program.
Having this association supported is vital to our achievement. As a former athlete at WOU, please take a moment to consider your role in helping this meaningful cause. A donation slip is included for you to fill out and return. Our success in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference as well as the national scene will be largely influenced by your participation and generosity.
If you have any questions please feel free to contact me at 503-838-8068 or Andrew Wynings, Foundation Development Officer, at 503-838-8151.
Thank you for your support and commitment to excellence in Western Oregon Basketball. I am honored to be working with you as we establish a successful program thereby bringing positive recognition to our university, city and state. I look forward to seeing you at the games this upcoming season.
Sincerely,

Craig Stanger
Head Men’s Basketball Coach
