Guest speakers and children's activities
On the third Saturday of every month the museum hosts Child Activities. This project is made possible, in part, by funding from the Polk County Cultural Coalition, along with contributions from the Friends of the Jensen Arctic Museum. Children are invited to participate in activities from making traditional Yo-Yos to learning about the migratory patterns of geese. The museum is also able to host symposiums and guest lecturers throughout the year thanks to these contributions.
Education
If you are a teacher and would like information about the arctic before visiting the museum, we offer pre-tour packets as well as education trunks that have information and other fun activities for your students to do in class before visiting. Learn more about the arctic and our educational trunks.
Calendar
Every year the museum has activities that they put on in order to build relations with the community and with the people that support the museum. In September the museum has its annual Salmon bake. There is also the Anniversary Celebration in May. To view a full list of activities please feel free to check out the museum calendar.
