Gentle House

Welcome to the Historic Gentle House!

 

Gentle House is the perfect location for your wedding, reception, business meeting, conference, family reunion or other special events. Social Rental Rates

Located in Monmouth, Oregon, just 20 minutes from downtown Salem, the 1880s home was purchased by the Thomas Gentle family from original Monmouth settlers who crossed the Oregon Trail. Today, the renovated home still retains its Victorian grace and charm.

In the main house, Gentle House features a refurbished parlor, living room, dining room and kitchen, which can be used for meetings and gatherings. The addition has a catering kitchen and conference center. Second-story bedrooms, bath and study serve as a museum of the family’s antiques. As a museum and meeting place, Gentle House has become a vital part of the college and community just as Catharine Gentle wished.
