Roundhouse Featured in Western Oregon University Exhibit
A historical overview of railroads’ effects on the culture and economics of the Willamette Valley opened on September 17th in the Hamersly Library on the campus of Western Oregon University in Monmouth, Oregon. ORHF and roundhouse volunteer Tim Thompson produced the display of vintage photographs, artifacts and interpretive panels.
The roundhouse below is in Brooklyn yard just North of Holgate Avenue in Portland, Oregon. This is the same roundhouse depicted in the library display as it looks today. This is where the three steam locomotives owned by the city of Portland are kept.
