Original Visualizations

Call for original works:

If you have original work that uses visual imagery to explore and articulate representations of the Canadian and U.S. Wests, you may submit that work to be featured at Visualizing the West. Works may engage with established and traditional images or seek to construct new visualizations. They may include, but are not limited to: photo essays, virtual exhibits, visually rich prose and poetry, and films or videos.

At present, all works will be evaluated for inclusion, but future calls may specify particular themes. The minimum amount of time for works to be featured at Visualizing the West is one month, and may be featured for as long as a year. While available through Visualizing the West, works will be subject to the site's Creative CommonsAttribution-NonCommerical ShareAlike 2.5 License.” Proposals should include complete contact information. Authors are responsible for making their work web-ready.

Call for reviewers:

Visualizing the West is looking for scholars, writers, and artists to review works seeking to be featured on the site. Applications should include the following:

For both original works and reviewer applications, electronic submissions are preferred, but will also be accepted via traditional mail and delivery. Queries for information are also welcome.
