MITU is a grassroots community organization dedicated to serving the cities of Monmouth and Independence, Oregon. Our efforts comprise of raising the quality of living by assisting and empowering tenants. In addition, we organize to provide education of tenants' rights through direct action.
Membership is open to all citizens, and we work to advance the interest of those who pay rent for housing in the Monmouth and Independence area.

Report the problem to your landlord. Molds need moisture to grow. If your rental unit has a moisture problem it will likely have a mold problem. Bathrooms must have working fans strong enough to pull out moisture. Sometimes small pipe leaks or leaks in the roof can be a source of moisture. If your landlord does not remedy the problem you should contact the appropriate city officials.
