To be considered for this scholarship, the History Department must have a complete application to the MA program on file.  Students enrolled in the program or who submitted complete applications by the April 2 deadline are eligible.

Each scholarship is in the amount of $3,645. The scholarship funds are made available through funds from the Oregon Lottery. Scholarship funds may be used toward Fall, Winter, Spring and Summer academic terms, though the funds may only be used in terms in which the student has been fully admitted.  Recipients of the scholarship will be required to be enrolled in at least 8 history credits during each term of support.  Unless support is not needed for a given term, the scholarships will be awarded in equal amounts over the remaining terms in the academic year that the applicant intends to complete graduate History coursework.  Also, recipients will be required to provide program support (to be determined in consultation with the program advisor.)  The scholarship can only be used by students taking graduate coursework at the WOU campus.  Scholarships will be awarded by the History Department in a competitive process.

Failure to meet minimum standards of progress will lead to forfeiture of the scholarship.
