The Fire Service Administration Degree Program has been part of the WOU curriculum since 1979.
Fire Service Administration Degrees At A Distance Program Don't have access to a traditional, campus-based program? Then Western Oregon University's Fire Service Administration Degree Program is tailored for you. You may take a single course, complete a certificate program, or earn a bachelor's degree without ever traveling to our Monmouth, Oregon campus.
Our program makes available:
Fire Services Administration BA/BS Degree Requirements Requirements provide for an upper-division major built upon the associate degree in Fire Science/Fire Protection presently available from many community colleges, and leads to a Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree.
Major The 72-credit hour major includes:
Minor Of the 27-credit hour total, 12 credits must be in upper-division courses.

Western Oregon University operates on the quarter system All course credits are reflected in quarter credit hours.
Admissions requirements and procedures To apply:
Admission to the program is limited to those who have:
Transfer students Must show evidence of honorable dismissal from other collegiate institutions attended and meet the 2.0 GPA requirement. Students who have more than 24 credit hours to transfer are evaluated only on college work (high school transcripts are required).
Non-Admitted students Anyone intending to seek a degree from WOU must apply for admission to the university. However, students may enroll in up to two Fire Services Administration courses per term without being officially admitted to WOU. These students are classified as "non-admitted" AND must officially apply for admission as soon as they decide to work toward the degree.
The University of Alaska-Anchorage and WOU offer the Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science degree in Fire Services Administration (FSA) through a cooperative agreement facilitated by the Anchorage Regional Fire Training Center. Professional upper-division requirements can be completed by taking FSA Institute classes at the Anchorage Regional Fire Training Center and by completing Degrees at a Distance Fire Service correspondence courses through WOU. UA-A offers other required courses, credits for which may be transferred to WOU as residence credits.
