Ranger Challenge

 

Ranger Challenge is a competition that challenges the physical fitness, mental toughness, and military skills of each team in a variety of events. The team consists of nine cadets whom compete against other college and university ROTC cadets. The competition is scheduled to take place at Fort Lewis, Washington from 6 - 8 November 2009. Only MS II, MS III, and MS IV cadets may participate in this event.

 

The Ranger Challenge competition consists of the Army Physical Fitness Test (APFT), the written land navigation and dismounted patrolling skills on the first day. The second day of competition includes the timed disassembly and assembly of the M16 rifle, the hand grenade assault course, the team rope bridge stream crossing, and oreienteering. The competition concludes on the the third day with a 10 kilometer (6.2 miles) road-march with ruck-sack, LBE, and weapon.
