The intercultural issue that I encountered was the importance of clothing and being seen. Although dressing well is important in the United States people are more involved with extracurricular activities like sports. In the first week, I tried searching for extracurricular activities outside walking on the main street campo, but unfortunately it seemed that people were content with buying clothes and walking around the town to be seen. After getting used to this I've simply accepted this cultural difference and put more effort to finding my own extracurricular activities. Although it bothers me that there aren't many sport stores, music stores, etc. in abundance, it just makes it more of a prize when I find these stores places for extra curricular activities. When I get home I will be more appreciative of the wealth of extra curricular activities offered in the United States.
