1. Getting used to the food/finding food I enjoy because I am vegetarian. 2. Vegetarianism is not big here, so at restaurants it was difficult to find food I could eat. I do eat fish and so my host mom makes that for me everyday because she does not know what else I can eat. All the vegetarian food we eat in the US is not easily accessible here. I didn't understand all of the menus at restaurants, so I would accidentally order some kind of meat I did not know the word for. 3. In the last two weeks it has become easier because I have learned more vocabulary of different food and have learned what restaurants would be easier to eat at. My host mom has introduced me to Spanish dishes I have never eaten in the states that are delicious. 4. I think I just needed time to adjust to what they eat here. Most everyone eats meat and so a lot of times my only option is fish and I've accepted that. My host mom does not want me to get bored so she tries to find new things to make me. 5. I have definitely overcome a challenge by coming to a place where there is a very small number of vegetarians. I have become more open to try new things, for example vegetables I thought I didn't like before I have grown to like because I gave them a chance. 6. When I return home I think I will stay more open to trying new things and not be such a picky vegetarian. I will want to show my mom and friends new things to cook for more variety in what they eat.
