1. Using the transport system - busses and airports. 2. It was a different adjustment because transportation back home is by car whenever desired. By bus and by plane in a different country was nerve-racking. 3. It has become more and more routine. If I want to book a flight, I don't think twice about taking the cheaper option out of Madrid because I know I can feel confident about getting there by bus without worry. 4. I had to feel comfortable about my Spanish at the ticket window. Use fewer words, speak up. I always get a schedule from the information booth and practice what I will say. 5. The transportation system has allowed me to value a weekend trip. I sit on the bus and see mothers with children, business people. I've realized that bus travel is more practical here, whereas in the United States it is viewed as a last choice. I feel comfortable on the bus, feel like I can take in the countryside. 6. I still don't think I will freely use bus transportation back at home. However, I feel more confident with getting around in a foreign country, more confident with feeling comfortable as a foreigner using a transportation system.
